Spiced warming aromatic beverage (Printable version)

A cozy aromatic drink infused with spices and citrus, sweetened with honey or maple syrup.

# List of ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 4.2 cups water
02 - 2 black tea bags or 2 tsp loose black tea

→ Spices

03 - 2 cinnamon sticks
04 - 6 whole cloves
05 - 4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
06 - 1 star anise
07 - 1 piece fresh ginger, about 0.8 inch, sliced

→ Citrus & Sweetener

08 - 1 orange, sliced
09 - 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

# Directions:

01 - In a medium saucepan, add water, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom pods, star anise, sliced ginger, and orange slices.
02 - Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
03 - Add black tea bags and steep for 3 to 5 minutes depending on desired strength.
04 - Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a heatproof pitcher or teapot, discarding solids.
05 - Stir in honey or maple syrup until fully dissolved.
06 - Pour into mugs and garnish with additional orange slices or cinnamon sticks if desired.
