Chocolate Dipped Valentine Pretzels (Printable version)

Pretzel rods coated in chocolate and decorated with festive Valentine sprinkles, perfect for sharing.

# List of ingredients:

→ Pretzels

01 - 24 large pretzel rods

→ Chocolate Coating

02 - 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped or chips
03 - 1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional for smoother dipping)

→ Decorations

04 - 1/2 cup Valentine-themed sprinkles
05 - 1/2 cup white chocolate, chopped or chips (optional for drizzling)

# Directions:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to catch drips and provide a clean surface for setting.
02 - Combine semi-sweet chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each, until completely melted and smooth.
03 - Hold each pretzel rod and dip approximately two-thirds into the melted chocolate. Lift and gently twirl to allow excess coating to drip off.
04 - Place dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and immediately coat with Valentine sprinkles while chocolate remains wet for proper adhesion.
05 - Melt white chocolate in a separate microwave-safe bowl using the same method. Drizzle back and forth over pretzels using a spoon for decorative effect.
06 - Allow pretzels to set at room temperature for 30–45 minutes, or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until chocolate is completely firm.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The sweet chocolate and salty pretzel combination hits every craving at once
  • These come together in under 20 minutes but look like you spent hours planning them
02 -
  • Any water in your melted chocolate will seize it into a grainy mess, so keep your equipment completely dry
  • Room temperature pretzels work better than cold ones, as the chocolate adheres more evenly
03 -
  • Keep a clean fork nearby to fish out any pretzel pieces that break off in your chocolate
  • If your chocolate starts thickening as you work, add another half teaspoon of coconut oil
